aussie corals- anything really from there ?

well after a conversation with 2 different whole sellers, and both own several collecting station's. i was told there is no corals really coming from austalia, some of the surrounding islands, but nothing from austalia. how true is this ? and those stores selling austalian stuff can you prove it is from there or just going by what is told too you ? and from seeing list from several different whole sellers, they dont know names for crap, but they do know where it is from, especially seeing it's from their collection area. add aussie to it and it brings a higher price

I have always wondered this. I can say this fish is from wherever I want but what do I have to back it up?
I like to think that the sellers are honest! The stores I deal with and sellers are good guys so I doubt they would mislead me. That being said I dont buy corals often in a store but still!

Any corals come with a "made in australia" stamp! LOL

What wholesalers? just curious. You can PM me if you want. I know a lot of wholesalers and they are like any LFS, there are really good ones and then there are the others.... Either way, I don't think anyone can 100% say that their shipments are coming from any particular location other than what is told to us by our suppliers. Unless you physically take it out of the water yourself you can't say anything for sure.

well the one has 9 collecting site's , dont know how many the other has, dont wanna mention names cause dont want to possibly stir a pot, seen a vendor list something from a certain place, and i got the same thing same day, but it wasnt from where they say there's is, not saying their's isnt from there, but it's the exact same thing { not a fish } so who really knows, other then the collectors, cause ya know a aussie acan is worth more then the same color morph from somewhere else :shhh:

Some species do have wider ranges than others and depending on where you get them from they may or may not look slightly different. I'm sure there are less than reputable places that would claim an item is from somewhere other than it's true origin in order to tag it with a premium price, but that doesn't mean there are no australian corals. I think that with australia being such a big deal that something would have come up if this was just a big scam by now. Someone would have opened their mouth about it along the line and it would have been made public. If there were no corals coming out of australia the tranship companies would have noticed discrepancies in the port of origin and their orders and raised some flags. I feel like this is mirroring the roswell crashes with the scale of the conspiracy that would be necessary to pull this off. Just my 2 cents.
