I am fragging a piece of mine tonight for a member. Worried about toxins.

Do it out the tank...with tank water.
They slime up pretty bad.

crap. It's attached to my blenny's home, trying not to move that rock because he flips out.

I am only doing 1 straight cut probably about 1 inch or so in diameter. Can I avoid taking it out if I run carbon?

The slime will circulate throughout the tank possibly affecting other corals before it ever reaches carbon (assuming it's in your sump).

It's a 54 Gallon Corner bow with roughly 10-15 Gallon Sump.

Just don't man-handle it, and you should be fine. Make sure its a sharp scissor so you can do it in 1 snip.
