Can Acans Survive 2 Day Shipping

I won 4 acans on ebay last Sunday and the seller sent them overnight on Tuesday. I was suppose to receive them by today, but USPS never delivered. They claim that they attempted to deliver, but they never did. (Buyers beware). Anyway, I am concern about the acans surviving. It will now be close to 48 hours since the seller shipped them. I contacted the seller who assured me that the acans should be fine. But I don't know if I can trust him.

Has anyone ran into the same problem? Any thoughts?

IMO it should be OK. As long as the seller packed it well. Next time it is best to pick up the package from your local post office.

But then again having a package out all day in this cold weather who knows.

i had dendros sit for 2 1/2 weeks in a cargo facility and three quarters of it survived.

I agree with Zoous, the way they were packed plays a big role although it depends on the type of acan too. Acan lords ship a lot better than acan bowerbanks. Hopefully he packed the bag with enough water and put carbon in the bag.
If the frag appears to be stressed when it arrives put it under medium flow and for a couple a days keep it in low light

I had blastos go an extra day during really cold January and they looked almost dead when I got them. All I could see was skeleton. Bu they did revive.

If the USPS driver left the 'undeliverables' in the truck overnight it will be extremely harsh conditions for anything tropical to live. With the temperatures around here in the low teens last night, the water was probably in the 20's. I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Always ship UPS for overnight. I have noticed, in my area at least, if the package won't fit in the mailbox the delivery guy won't bring it and just leaves a slip. I never order any time sensitive items through USPS.

Thank you to those who responded to my question. I got my acans today and so far they look okay. They look very stressed but I hope they survive. Will post pic this weekend.
