Hi Everyone,

Can anyone suggest a very aggressive coral with medium to low light requirements and a short range for feeding/stinging tentacles? I have too many mushrooms, and I need corals that will keep them coralled into a small area.

the only thing I can think with low light requirement would be GSP, but thats a weed.
If you can give it medium lighting, I would say any of the euphyllia's (torch, hammer, etc) or maybe some acan echinata tend to sting really strong.

;-) Galaxea is one of the most aggressive corals and extends very long stinging sweeping polyps, so if distance can be maintained from other corals it is a possibility. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=597+322+471&pcatid=471Hydnophora, can adapt to low light intensity and extends not so long stinging polyps if compared to Galaxea or Merulina and Merulina would have to be placed far from the mushrooms so that only the stinging sweeping polyps would reach the mushrooms and these would never reach the tissues of the Merulina.

Cheers
Pedro Nuno ;-)

Thanks Everyone,

Kat, thanks for the heads up, but I think your colony is too big for the space I have in mind.

I already have frogspawn so I think I'll go with the hydnophora. Now I just have to locate some :)
