I made a move from my nano cube to a 40g with a 150mh 50wts t5 I cant seem to find a place for the candy canes where ever I put there they seem to be gettting worse they are fully retracted what is the best way to care for them they were fine in the othere tank how much light is good for them?

Any time you change lighting you need to acclimate. What kind of light did you have before? It is like when you go out of a dark room into bright light you can't open your eyes. Well that is what you are doing to your candy cane. They do not need a lot of light nor a lot of flow. I would put them in a corner with not too much light or flow and then slowly move them to where you want them. I have mine under PC's. If they put out tentacles at night I would try feeding them once a week with very finely chopped silversides or mysis.
