Suncoral

Ok so I have a suncoral that is being stubborn, its taking to long to open up and be fed.....it gets puffy after i feed a couple of polyps..

Here is my question.... Does each suncoral polyp have to be fed or will the whole colony benefit from any polyp eating?

Anyone know any tips or tricks to keeping it open? Any Input wud be kwel.

Once a "baby" polyp has established its own skeleton, it no longer shares nutrients from its "parent". It would need its own food at that time.

You can try feeding it right at lights out then just before lights out, then earlier and earlier. I've read that they can be trained, contrary to their "instinct", that food comes during the day not at night. If you are successful than they should stay open during the day.

Or you could buy some dendros and call it a day.

I put mine in the shade, and they come during the day on their own.

I just moved mine into the shade, and now they open during daytime hours.
