So, I kept some SPS under my power compact lighting :)shhh:) and it grew, but it didn't retain its color (not surprising). I moved it all to my new tank under MHs and everything I have is coloring up really nicely. My green cap has purple rims! Who knew?! My birdsnest is pink! Who knew?

Anyway, I would like to try some other colorful SPS. Right now, I've been sticking with montis, I have a green polyp stag, orange/red psammi, two stylophoras, pink birdsnest, and a tan pocillopora. Any suggestions of other types of acros and SPS that aren't ridiculously demanding? (Alternatively, which ones are MOST demanding ...i.e. I've heard that the torts are particularly difficult and slow growers).

...

I agree with danny... Millies were always my fav. Thick branges with a heavy dense growth. Raspberry was always my favorite.

My ORA blue tort grows insanely fast and never had a problem with it even when I had it under PCs. In my experience anything that has been aquacultured should be fairly easy to take care of if you are worried or just want to learn stick to cultured for now.

In that case, go for sps which have been aquacultured/home grown for many years already. They tend to be more hardy. I have had some Milli's grow faster then Acro's, and vice versa. I think it depends more on how long they been 'domesticated'

After reading everybody's post, I assumed she had PC's from the responses

I forgot to add that I have a purple nana already. It was a really pretty purple color when I got it, then it turned to brown (blech), but I think it's coloring up again as well. The new growth looks purple and the rest of the tissue is turning sort of green. It's odd. I had it up high in my new tank, but it started bleaching so I moved it down a little (about half way up in a 16" deep tank).

Thanks B. :) I'll take you up on that.
