Brain is dying?!

I have it over 1 year in my tank, this monday it's start dying little by litte, I can see the bone today? Whts happending? All other corals are doing ok..

What type of brain...open or closed? What are your nitrate and phosphate levels? How much light is it receiving?

This is the one, it's under 150w matel halide with 2 VHO 6 hrs a day

Can you zoom out a little so we can see what's around it, looks like that torch is too close to the affected spot.

I would say the torch, it sends out some pretty good sweepers probably.

I have to agree - take a lok t night and see how nasty that torch can get.

It will eventually gorw back if the conditions are right, but not look exactly the same.

I think it will do better if it was placed lower in the tank (sand-bed).

I had my brain in the middle of the tank and it was doing fine. After Ronen told me to move it on the sand bad I believe it's dying. Do I have to feed my brain? I'll post a picture of what it looks like today later on.

Trachyphyllia brains are usually found on the sandbed in the ocean. That does not mean they won't grow accustomed to living among the rockwork. I recommend feeding open brains whenever you see their feeders out (usually at night).
