Yikes! Tonight I saw a long, thin creature swirling all around my tank! It's about 7-8 inches long. It quickly twirls all around...up, down, sideways, near the top, near the bottom, in the middle. It's either green or gray. One end is a little beige...about 1/2 inch. It doesn't seem to have a head. What the heck is it? Should I be concerned? Good or bad? Could it be why my yellow wrasse died last week?

I seriously doubt a worm that size would have caused the death of your wrasse, however, if it is a Nemertean, and it gets bigger, it could start to hunt fish. It does not look like the nemerteans I have seen, but it could just be a completely different kind. Try watching it to see if it appears to be consuming detritus or actively hunting something such as amphipods. The predatory nemerteans apparently have a harpoon like organ that they can eject to stab their prey. I would think this would be pretty noticable.
