Coral Problem

Hi, guys
Recently, my elegance coral started to leave from its skeleton and finally got off it after a couple of weeks. It survived like before for several day and totally disappeared from my tank. Probably got eaten by my fish or crabs. By the way, why do they leave the skeleton??
Does anybody know the reason??

elegance corals have been all but impossible to keep over the last 10 or so years. no one really knows why they have become so touchy. IMO don't get another one. VERY few ppl are successful at keeping them lately.

I think it has to do with new collection areas. It seems I recently read that they used to be collected from rather shallow areas, back then, they were very easy to keep. Now they're being collected from much deeper areas and have become almost impossible to keep alive for more than a few months.
