ID my little Crab friend

Here are 4 pictures of a crab I found in my refugium...I put him in the sump...What is he... is he safe?

I do not trust any crabs so I would leave him where he is.

Demon crab Look at those eyes and spines!

Yeah he looks evil when he's that big. (he's actually about 1-2 cm)

To give you a sense of scale he's on a CD case (the center part) you can see it really well in pics 2 and 3) so he's not much bigger than that.

I found him in my refugium (with some live rock) crawling in the chaeto (so he was really easy to catch... I was pretty sure he was munching on pods.
