Whoah. Do you have an Alveopora (commonly called flowerpot coral) in your tank? It looks recessed at the base, but that's what it looks like to me.

yes i did some research i agree with you ta.

it is recessed thats how it came it was a freebee from the LFS just sitting at the bottom of the coral tank so he threw it in with my goby.

it probably won't stay alive but i will keep yas posted if i have any luck with it.

I used to have a dead goniopora rock that I use as base rock. One day the base rock came back to life with goniopora sticking out of top half of the rock. They continued to thrive by extending to neighboring LR.

When I discovered the goniopora came back to life, it was positioned in the corner receiving moderate light. I started feeding it by stirring up detritus from the sand bed and it continually to thrive until I ripped the tank apart and sell everything to LFS.

You will never know, maybe it will do well in your tank. Good luck to you.
