i'm really facinated with these clams. i don't know the name of them(sorry). i know one is blue on top. the ques i have is do you need upgraded lighting for them. the reason i ask is i wouldn't think so. they are filter feeders....they don't do photosynthesis.
The Tridacnas most certainly do have symbiotic Zooxanthalae..yes they do require high lighting...if you have small enough tank you might be able to get away with having PC lighting..only if you have a shallow tank..at the very least i would say VHO but honestly you should use Metal Halide lighting...you need to do some more research on clams..even ask some of the more experienced aquarists on here about clams...I know Len has kept clams as well as Matt_Wandell maybe give them a PM
