This came on the live rock I got last Friday.

It is brown, about 1/2 inch tall, and the "stem" is about 1/8 inch in diameter. The top has a fringe of spikes around the perimeter and the very center of the top is green. The top is flat and slightly larger in diameter than the stem, even if you don't count the fringe.

I can't see the base where it attaches to the rock because it sits behind a small white spongy-looking thing. It is also at the back of the tank, so detail is hard to see. I moved a rock above it to make it easier to see and to give it more light. I have not seen it move, but this morning it didn't seem to be standing exactly the same as it was last night, maybe it was facing slightly different. It did not react when I shined the flashlight at it to get a better look.

Anyone have any ideas as to what this might be?

Sorta like?

I found this guy hitching on a piece of rock.

Yes, it does look sorta like that, except mine is skinnier and taller. It's sort of in the shadows and hard to see that clearly.

Mine does stand tall every once in a while. I was told it was a Tulip Anemone. I have yet to find fact refuting that statement, so thats what he is to me. :)

I have placed him in my refugium. He's doing quite well, and doesn't seem to mind being crawled on by snails or crabs. When he first opens, his whole center is bright lime green (pencil eraser size). Then once fully open, just his very center is green and the rest brown (pencil lead size).
