This thing came in on my LR. sorry for the blury pic, but its at the back of my tank, can't get a good focus on it. i have several of them spread over my live rock. its about 2 cm in diameter, is a bright red, and has clear hairs around the outside of it. thanks.
That looks and sounds like a foramniferan. It's a small animal that secretes a calcareous shell and filter feeds. Completely harmless, and kind of cool looking too. They are listed in the hitchhiker's FAQ.
