red venus

I have something that looks like a red venus fly trap, because of its location i cant get a picture, any idea what it could be?

just picture the head of a venus fly trap and make it red and this what these are.

My only guess from your description is a foraminiferan:

They are commonly found both white and red morphs.

I just had one other thought as well actually... it could be a clam or mussel that you are looking into... for example:

it is neither of those, though i thank you for taking the time. I will attempt to get a picture, its just gonna be hard because i dont have a good camera with a zoom.

actually in takeing a closer look, it might be the red/white type fanworms, i really cant tell, they are too out of view.
