Hi there all! I have a funny dilema! I was at my local aquarium.. and they unveiled a much improved salt water reef display. The had one reef tank set up that had a type of "fungus" mushroom type coral on it. I walked into a petstore that was selling the same thing.
The petstore is about an hour drive for me, and when I arrived there the staff was very busy packing up an order. I asked for help identifying the coral but the guy was determined to work in the back. Love the stores that have a chart with 50+ names of corals and prices in the middle of 3 different tanks.
Anyhow I still want to know what it is that I saw that I loved at the aquarium and petstore.
Here is what it looks like and this description is going to be silly.
The coral thing.. looked like a mushroom but more of a fungus type that you would see growing on trees in the wild. It was light brown coloured and grew out from the rocks, creating ledges as it was very flat. It did not grow from the floor of the of the tanks.
Any idea what this is called? I am trying for hours to find a picture from retailers but I am having no luck. The petstore where I found it, has an online store... but no pics of their corals. I am going to try to attach a picture of what it looks like using a picture of the woodland type as it looks very similar to the ocean type.. silly to say I know.
