I spotted this nice maroon/white fan today under some rock. This rock has been moved twice recently and has been here for about 10 days. I noticed that the fan is in a "heart shaped" when it comes out due to being in a bit of a pinch in this spot between 2 rocks. Sort of like getting a hoola-hoop and pushing one side in about 6" to deform it. What baffles me as to this fan's location is that this rock has been sitting with this underside down since I have know until I moved up on top of two other rocks.
This is a wonderful hitch-hiker and I hope it makes it. Anyone know more about the ability of fans to tolerate tight places? Can they survive being pressed like this?
I know these photos are a bit weak but its the best I could get with the lighting. It is just under the yellow spongy growth and to the upper right of the shrimps head about an inch.
