I've been waiting to get a digicam to attempt this, but that may be a while so I'll try to describe it...

What I've got is pale white semi-rigid stuff on the rocks in places. It takes different forms depending I think on the current, in high current it is encrusting with short tube-like openings. In med current, it forms longer tube structures. In low current, it forms a branchy coral-like structure.

Any thoughts? If not I'll try again when I can supply a photo.

Sounds like sponges or forams to me.

I didn't mention their size - the coral-like branchy one is like 4". (It is in a protected area within the rock, and would be difficult to photograph even if I had a digicam).

Could it still be sponges or forams? The known forams & sponges I have are tiny.
