For about as long as my tank has been set up over 1 1/2 to 2 years, I have found several 2mm shrimp that look like mantis shrimps. I'm not 100% sure if they are mantis but they sure do look like em. Again about 2mm and clear in color. My question is could there be a breeding pair in the tank that has gone unnoticed for soo long? Working on a photo...

Thanks

Most likely you are looking at amphipods. They are about 2-4mm in length, rearend of body can sometimes curl inward. The head somewhat resembles mantis shrimp. Color varies, green, tan, and white/semi-transparent.

These are good scavengers and does not grow larger then 1cm.
