New Reefer
I saw a "new" critter that reminds me too much of aiptasia to be comfy with it, but I don't know how bad a critter it might be. It's about 1/2"-1" tall, with a tube-like base that's about 1/4" in diameter, and what looks like a couple of rows of tentacles at the top. The whole thing is transluscent white, with darker rings around various spots on the tentacles. The tentacles do not have any bulbs at the tips. The critter is coming up out of the sand at the base of some of the LR.

Is it an aiptasia relative or something differrent?

Sorry, but I can't get photos; the digital camera never focuses on the right thing in tank shots.

There are a couple morphs of aiptasia and their close relative, the infamous anemonia majano. Without an pic, it's hard to make identification for you.

I did a photo search, and it doesn't match any of the anemonia majano photos I found. They all have solid-colored tentacles. I think the stripes on the tentacles might be a good field mark -- if anyone could tell me names of things with that sort of marking, I can at least do the searches and find out if they're close.
