On the base of one of my live rocks, there is a growth. its about the size of a small marble, with large open pores, like a big ole sponge would have. only this thing is white, fuzzy looking and almost like its moldy....its got a translucentness to it, but not really....pasty milky white and hairy as if its a giant moldy bread crumb. only theres three of them all within inches of each other, and i think i have one growing on my feather duster, a mere two inches away....

anyone know what these pored moldy bread crumbs are?

thanks!

they need water ;-) they are filter feeders. I would not stress too much about them. I have plenty that come and go in my tank of all colors. Size is hard to say it really depends on the variety of sponge. I have some that are pretyt big and other that are smaller than a fraction of a penny!

It might be a snail egg colony.
